Rickey Hill takes the helm of the Wolf Pack with over 30 years of cheerleading and dance experience at both the small college and NCAA Division I levels.
Prior to coming to Loyola, Hill was the Spirit Coordinator at Virginia Tech from 2004-13. Hill rebuilt a program within six years that featured 63 cheerleaders and 30 dancers while with the Hokies. With Hill in command, both Virginia Tech cheerleading and dance teams competed annually in the NCA/NDA National Championship Finals in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Hill also gained extensive coaching experience as the head cheerleading and dance coach at Methodist University, James Madison University, the University of Virginia and Winthrop University. In all four of these stops, Hill led each program to the College Cheerleading & Dance National Championships. While at James Madison, his team won the 1996 Division I NCA National Championship and took second place at the Grand Championship.
Along with his experience in coaching at the collegiate level, he choreographed numerous routines for high school, all-star, college and semi-professional cheerleading and dance teams from across the country. He has instructed for the NCA College Staff, COA, ECA, Cheer LTD, and judged numerous competitive cheer and dance competitions throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.
