The senior sits tied for 10th (+10) at the PGA National Golf Course heading into tomorrow's final round.
For the third-straight day, the weather in Palm Beach Garden was volatile as Loyola University New Orleans senior Julchen Narwark (SR/Buchholz in der Nordheide, .de) and the rest of the field at the 2017 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship embarked on the PGA National Golf Course to finish the second round and play the third round on Thursday morning.
Before the third round could start as scheduled, a handful of individual players and entire teams had to complete their second round of golf after having Wednesday's round bleed into Thursday due to the second weather-related postponement of the tournament. The weather on Thursday quickly put an end to any chance of the championship getting back on track, however, as more bad weather would force a delay of nearly seven hours which meant only the second round of action would be finished on the day. For this reason, no golfers were able to begin their third round as scheduled, so Thursday's originally scheduled third round had to be pushed back until Friday. This change would force tournament officials to trim the originally scheduled four-round tournament down to three rounds which means Friday's finish will determine a champion.
At the conclusion of Thursday's round, the tournament field was cut down to the top 17 teams and 40 individuals each with a chance to claim a national title at Friday's finale.
Although she did not golf on Thursday, Narwark's two-round score of 154 (+10) was good enough to make the cut and land the senior tied for 10th and just four strokes off the lead heading into tomorrow. Julchen will begin her final round tomorrow morning at 7:48 a.m.
There is a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, with Kaitlyn Riley (Cumberlands), Tia Teinketo (Dalton State) and Jessica Williams (Embry Riddle) each sharing the top spot with a six-over 150.
Oklahoma City remains atop the team leaderboard with a 620 (+44) and holding a slim three-stroke advantage over South Carolina-Beaufort (+47) for the top spot.
