This is the second-straight scholar-athlete award of her career and she is also a three-time SSAC All-Academic Team selection.
Loyola University New Orleans senior Alexis Hazard (SR/Pensacola, Fla.) has been selected as a 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
In order to be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must have maintained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
A member of the Wolf Pack for four years, this is Hazard's second-straight scholar-athlete award and she joins 173 other women's golfers from across the country on the 2017 edition of this prestigious academic accolade. The talented senior adds this award to her Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic Team (third overall) honor that she earned earlier this year.
Hazard's stellar academic career culminated on May 15 when she earned her Bachelor of Science degree along with University Honors, Biological Science Department Honors and Cum Laude status at Loyola's annual commencement ceremony inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
On the course, Hazard appeared in all four spring tournaments for the Wolf Pack this year and finished inside the top 50 at each event. Hazard's best performance on the greens came at the Faulkner University Spring Invite in March when she carded a 172 (+28) to leave Montgomery tied for 25th place.
